Mexico Gig Confirmed!
Source: Exclusive, thanks to Carlos Saide

This news comes as a surprise to me.. appearently, Mexicans woke up this morning with an unexpected piece on news on the TV. This morning, Dolores confirmed in an interview via telephone that that band has booked a gig for Mexico this year. Here are the specifics:

Date: April 9th, 2000
Place: Mexico City, Mexico
Venue: National Auditorium

This is the third announced tour date for this year, and the first show in Mexico since 1993. If you speak Spanish, there is a nice article here.

MXPX Song about Dolores?
Source: Exclusive

I stumbled across this this morning thanks to my brother (a big punk fan)... Appearently, there is a song on the MXPX album, "Teenage Politics" that bears some uncanny references to the Cranberries. The song is called "Delores". Check out the album cover and lyrics...

"Delores"

My girl hates the IRA
it's true she just a Fantasy
Don't know her she don't know me
We'd make the perfect memory
Nothing in this world could be better
than falling in love with her
she'd write me the most beautiful of songs

1, 2, 3, Go! Go! Go! Go!

"Hates the IRA"? "She'd write the most beautiful of songs"? Coincidence? Make your own decision...

BTH Tour Jacket
Source: Exclusive

Another odd piece of merchandise... This Bury the Hatchet tour jacket surfaced just recently, which leaves me to believe that it is from the latter tour leg, from last December.

Animal Instinct
Loud And Clear
Promises
You And Me
Just My Imagination
Shattered
Desperate Andy
Saving Grace
Copycat
Whats On My Mind
Delilah

EPOK Article
Source: Cranberries RT Mailing List

Apparently, quite a few people thought the recent French EPOK article was one of the best they've read in years, so here's some highlights for you:

"She was interviewed in Epok, a French zine and the article was really interesting as she [Dolores] stated that she did not like at all who she was before (during the EEIDSWCW period), and that she would never again write songs such as Zombie, because of the political issues when you wrote such engaged rock...quite surprising though. I will definitely post the whole French article there soon, as it made me thought of all the opinions that were posted a month ago about what this list members think of 'Berries music and how it evolved. The original 'Berries spirit is definitely lost, I guess so, as Dolores clearly stated she would never write again the same love songs she used to.
In this very interview (I'll send it tomorow), she said that she feels like playing in a movie in the future: "It would be fun". But, she also said that she will work on the next album. Nevertheless she says too that she hates some love songs she wrote earlier, because she has now found true love, and she consideris she did not know what she was speaking about when writing these songs."

Thanks to Francois Gibello for the article highlights.

Sessions at West 54th Date

Finally we have an airing date for Sessions at West 54th.

Date: May 14, 2000
Time: 12:00 A.M. (Midnight) EST
[West Coasters, that's 9:00 P.M.]

If you don't know what channel it's on, Sessions at West 54th is a public broadcast program, so you'll have to check your local listings for the channel.

Thanks to Adam over in the Zombieguide Tour section for the info!

New Song?

The Waltzing Back Website brings word of perhaps a new Cranberries song from the next album. The song is supposedly titled "Cruel Summer", and was heard by attendees of the Europe Loud and Clear Tour during the sound checks. Bands usually tinker around with new songs during sound checks, so there may be truth to this rumor.

Dolores Downloads!

MTV is offering some CK downloads in conjunction with thier show, House of Style. Each artist has a corner of the page, featuring some cool downloads including high-res Dolores backgrounds and a screensaver. Be sure to check out Dolores' section here.

The CK ads featuring Dolores have been printed and distributed. Below is one of the first of them -- a CK promo postcard featuring Dolores sporting Dirty Jeans. I've also been told that there are billboards of this image in major US cities! If someone could get a picture of that, that would be great!

Jan 20th 2000

(written by Dolores, Dec 1999)

Hello there all ye Cranberry heads!

I would just like to thank all you guys for your loyalty and support on our "Loud & Clear" tour.

The American leg was quite good, but Europe blew me away. Just some amazing receptions. I was totally impressed. I loved Spain, Italy, France, etc.

Noel is a dad now and Ferg is expecting in the next month or so. They will busy for a while.

We are going to rehearse and write the 5th album. We won't record it until August and will do some festivals during the year. Our first is in April in Spain at Esparrago 2000 - So we are going to do ass kicking again - Oh I love Rock n' Roll.

Hope to see you later this year and hope you had a great Millennium and Xmas!

Lot's of love,

Dolores x"
